Belinda Lester

My Background
I have a degree in psychology and started my career in publishing in the early 1990s. I qualified as a solicitor in 1999 in Leeds but moved to London shortly thereafter where I spent 5 years at City firm Sprecher Grier Halberstam. I joined that firm as a junior assistant but became Head of Department within about 18 months. I joined Solomon Taylor & Shaw in January 2006 to establish the Employment Department and became a partner in January 2007.

My specialist areas include:

• Discrimination
  
• Family Friendly" legislation
  
• Employment contracts and post-termination restrictions
  
• The employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions including TUPE

On a personal note:
I am married with one daughter and one son. I enjoy good design, good food, good films, good theatre and good conversation. I also enjoy travel and have lived abroad in South Africa and Hong Kong.
